Kouchibouguac National Park and a couple of day trips
Heading out on our bike tour
We are definitely feeling our 14 kilometer bike ride today - OUCH!
Scott remembers running on the beach as a kid covered in seaweed pretending to be a monster.
Beautiful and Long Boardwalk to the Outer Beaches
Low Tide at Kouchibouquac National Park
Irving Boardwalk
Scott often talked about the Irving Boardwalk. He'd stopped there briefly once and had always wanted to visit it properly, walking the entire boardwalk. The boardwalk used to be longer however storms and ice have damaged it so many times, it now runs a 1/2 mile out over the dunes. The dune stretches 7.5 miles across Boutouche Bay on the Northumberland Straight. There is an intrepretive centre and tall lookout, lots of birds and marine life in addition to the boardwalk. We enjoyed our time there.
Pays de la Sagouine
This tourist attraction is a theatrical village on a small natural island in the middle of Bouctouche Bay. Great music and stories of the Acadien people.
It was very rainy the day we went there but we'd go again to explore and experience more of the concerts and plays they put on. Even so we had a very good guide and loved the "Pays de la Sagouine"
