Canada Day Weekend in PEI with Family - July 2018
I am "from away" as the Islanders say but somehow I always feel like I'm coming home when we reach the bridge. Scott, who grew up in on the Island, is coming home.
The Confederation Bridge is 12.9 km / 8 miles long and opened May 31st, 1997. Before that there were two ferry routes to and from the island. A ferry still runs from Wood Islands (PEI) to Caribou (Nova Scotia) except in the winter. The bridge toll is $47.75 CAD for 2 axles paid one way only on the way off the island. Additional axles are $8.25 each. Motorcycles are $19.00.

We love hanging out with family, watching parades and relaxing on the long weekend.
It's hard to believe we are going to be spending the summer here.
The plan is to visit different spots around the island and keep circling back to visit.
