Jacques Cartier Provincial Park - August 2018
Jacques Cartier Provincial Park was built to commemorate the 400th anniversary of the landing of Jacques Cartier to Prince Edward Island June 30th and July 1st, 1534.
"All the said land is low and plaine and the fairest that may possibly be seene.
Full of goodly medowes and trees."
Sounds about right even today.
Beach as far as the eye could see and further than you'd likely walk. The water was very shallow and we saw a lot of crabs and even small lobsters which was different.
We finally used our bikes again and hit the Confederation Trail. Loads of wild raspberries
and Scotts favorite, blueberries.
Lugging around the bikes and kayak. We didn't use them as often as we thought we would.
Boardwalk at Tignish Shores
A couple of ladies staying cool and relaxed at Tignish Shores
We took Tanner walking at Tignish Shores a few times...
great ice cream and always a lot of sea glass to find.
One thing which really stood out about Jacques Cartier Provincial Park was that some sites, like ours, were soooooo tight and others were huge. Our awning almost touched the neighbours rig when fully extended which is way too tight. If you decide to go the this park, please read the campground specific info.
Our very squishy site
Campground Specific Info: Sites 26 - 51 are very tight. Around 20' wide. If this is all that's available, the best of these sites are some of the end sites, # 26, 45 and 51.
Sites 1 - 25 are all huge although they appear to be mostly seasonal with the exception of 21 & 22 which looked transient and were right on the water.
#54 & 55 were good for up to 35'
Big Rig 40' (28, 69, 72, 71, 77 & 78) # 78 is very private and right on the beach.
# 70, 73 - 76 are for shorter rigs.
Refer to the map to determine which are unserviced or 2-way sites.
The park had a really nice kids playground.
