It All Needs To Go - The Final Push (June 2018)

 IT'S ALL GOT TO GO!!
Back home from our shakedown tour we finally had some garage sale weather. Concerned that anyone would find us on our secluded country road, we put signs out in every possible direction. Amazingly, people were arriving before we got back from putting signs out. Everything was out, the weather was fantastic and we were open for business Friday, Saturday and Sunday.  We'd already sold or gifted some of the larger and more desirable items online beforehand. The rest had to go so price was not an issue and we sold 90%. The balance went to a local charity. We were thrilled.

Gray tank connection repair and attaching the tow system

Gray water tank
Black water tank

The elbow on top of the gray water tank was cracked and leaking inside, under the kitchen sink. The repair involved removing both the black and gray tanks to get access to it. It amazes me that Scott takes on these jobs. Also makes me very happy - it would be costly and time consuming to take this type of work to an RV repair shop every time something happened.

Front of car taken apart

Adding the base plate and the brake system to the car involved taking off the entire front grill and lights.  I was more than a little nervous when I saw this but again Scott had researched what to do, planned it all out and got to it. I just stayed out of the way. There were no extra pieces left when he was done and we've been towing ever since. We chose the Roadmaster Falcon All Terrain Tow Bar and the Air Force One Brake System.  Writing this after a year of travelling, I can say we are very pleased with both. Roadmaster in particular - it is easy and quick to use. At the FMCA (Family Motorcoach Association) Rally, Roadmaster did a free inspection and cleaning of every Roadmaster tow bar in the place as a courtesy. Talk about service!!

Dad and Elfie in their gazebo for her birthday

Last visit with Dad June 19th, 2018

Visit from Jackie Hobson (ex-Travel CUTS co-worker)

I spent as much time as possible visiting my Dad before our departure. He was doing alright but with failing kidneys I knew this would not last. Elfie was his caregiver in conjunction with a PSW who came in daily and a weekly nurse visit. He was happy that we were going on an adventure as he did so many times with my mom.

On June 19th, 2018 we left Flesherton, stopped in to visit with Dad and Elfie and headed East. We were officially full time RVers'
