Fun visit with Sarah and Tyler (August 4 - 11, 2019)

It turned out to be a great week for a vacation. Sarah, Tyler and our grand-dog Oak, arrived Sunday. We did a little work during the week but it was mostly a vacation for us as week as well.

First stop, Grammies and then over to Seal Cove Campground for a swim and dinner with Pam and family. Emily in her gorgeous new hat loved Oak.

We saw this fantastic trailer decorated to match the motorhome from Arizona.
The trailer housed a motorbike and sports car.

Monday was a little cool so we decided to head to Charlottetown
with a few stops on the way.

Scott and I have been meaning to visit "Orwell Corner". It is a PEI Pioneer Village.
Nice place to visit and the fresh ginger cookies were delicious.

General Store in it's original location

Scott and Tyler tried out the draw knife to make fence posts. They were hungry when we got to Charlottetown and the Gahan Brewery Restaurant.

Scott and Tyler had the Fish and Chips - Delicious

Fantastic beach day on Tuesday - We went to Basin Head.
It got really busy later in the day but still awesome as always.

Beach in the morning - it got busier as the day went on
CTMA Ferry heading to Souris from the Madelaine Islands

Basin Head is known for an amazing beach and a great "run" with the tide. Jump in a the tide will take you in or out depending on which way it's running.

Dunes and beach as far as the eye can see

Excitement - Our garbage bins were delivered ..Woohoo!!!

We headed back to Panting Shores for some clamming (they found 3 and put them back), swimming, including Oak and relaxation.

Beach Dog - He loved the water
Kayaking on the Montague River. It was a little windy to start but we were up for the challenge.

Heading to the "Hole" where Scott and his friends used to swim as kids

Sarah trying her first oysters - she liked them

Got me some doggie love before they left on Friday - so cute
Oak is a Bernie-Doodle

We did manage to fit some work in on the weekend. Scott started filling in the kitchen basement and getting the perimeter of the house ready for wing insulation to help protect the foundation. We kept some of the stones, hopefully we'll think of something fun to do with them.

Meanwhile inside I fought to get every inch of plywood up. So many nails.

My favorite project this week was starting on a mood board to give us ideas on decorating the house.  I'll fill it in as we decide on paint and accent colours.  Sarah also suggested a designer named Alison Kandler she saw on Pinterest. We may incorporate some of her ideas.

We were up well past our bedtime last night babysitting Kayla and Dom after picking
them up at their aunts wedding. LOL!!

Two good days of work and we're back to a few days off visiting with Scotts brother Ron and his family who arrive tonight. We're feeling the pressure but family is important too.
