Happy 2020 - Full Steam Ahead (Dec 23, 2019 - Jan 10, 2020)

Christmas has come and gone, it's 2020. We had a lot of fun with family and friends in PEI and Ontario. I didn't take as many pictures as usual so there are quite a pile of people we visited with not pictured but we loved seeing each and every one of you. Thanks so much for making the time.  Here is a sampling.

Lots of fun at Jacob and Kennedy's place Christmas Day - 1st year in their new house.

Love the gifts from my sister - She knows me well.

Our flight left Charlottetown at 5:15 AM on boxing day arriving in Toronto at 7:30 AM. Sarah and Tyler picked us up and we all had a nap at their place in Waterloo before heading over to Stephanie and Ryan's for boxing day dinner with the Ontario clan.

While in Ontario we visited with Uncle Blythe and Aunt Alice in Wasaga Beach then met up with Sarah and Tyler for a relaxing time at the Scandinave Spa in Collingwood. Stopped by to see Grace and Dan outside of Meaford on our way home.

Monica took the time to meet us for a wonderful Eygptian lunch. Dinner at Crossroads with Helen and Brian, visit with Barb, lunch with Elfie and her wonderful sister Anne, Rene and Petra.
Visit to IKEA and lunch with Deb in Toronto on our way to the airport.

New Years Eve we enjoyed a feast of Chinese food with Sarah, Tyler, Evan and Hope playing games and hanging out with Oak. A great way to bring in a new decade.

Seriously we almost had to be rolled on to the plane. So much food. All good but we've been taking it easy since we got back.

The flight back was late Saturday January 4th getting home to bed at 2 AM so it took a couple of days to get back into the swing of things.

Since then though, it's been full steam ahead. 70 sheets of drywall for the upstairs delivered. Some of it is already in place upstairs. Sadly there is no upstairs delivery. Scott and I move it upstairs together as needed. Final heat pump hook up completed (we had Beck's Heating do this) and running well.

I went down the get some sand at Panting Shores (the point to the right is where we see the seals Karin). The sand was needed to add grit to paint I put on some plywood which should help us stop slipping on our back porch.

Temporary stairs are fantastic.

Upstairs heat pump in place. We have one on each floor

Before we left for Ontario we were inundated with flies and hung up 8 of these fly strips. All were plastered when we got home. These are gone and new ones have but put up. Happily the fly problem is now under control. We've also caught a mole and a mouse. We remain vigilant.

Snowy day - would normally see the water from this window. We're lucky to see the tree.

Wednesday and Thursday brought a fair bit of snow and we were housebound until this morning.
We have supplies and plenty to do so it wasn't really a worry.

Scott digging around the tractor

Tractor on the job.. it snowed a lot more after this.

Guest bathroom looking back into the laundry

Lots of drywall to tape and mud

In between snow coming down I headed out to the shed to find some shelf brackets. Only possible on snowshoes. It was a bit of work getting started and I was wondering who decided we should build the shed so far away from the house. LOL!!! that would be Scott. Gorgeous walk though.

Big foot walking

Awake at 4:30 in the morning - almost bright as day

Saved by Mackay's good sized snowblower.

The snow swirled around the house so there none beside it but the drifts were thigh high and there was no way to get out the driveway and plow-bank.

We've ordered some of the tile and the original wood floor will be going back down next week.
Woohoo!!! Progress.
