Electrical Rough In Done - RV Stuck in the Field (Nov 25 - Dec 2, 2019)

Our first winter storm hit this past weekend and with our RV stuck in the field we are looking forward to getting into the house..... still a few weeks away.

There are two main issues for us living in a motor-home during the winter.

1. To fill up with propane we need to drive the rig to Montague which isn't too fun on icy roads but the real issue is getting backed into our spot. There's a bit of a ridge in the spot we need to turn before backing into our spot. Although it was -9C last night, the sun came up and started to melt the mud under the snow. What a mess... it took us at least an hour to get over the hump, using pieces of wood and shingles. We won't be able to get back in again so whatever happens once the propane runs out we'll be moving out.  The last time we spent a winter in an RV we were in a trailer with portable tanks. I had to get them filled often but at least we didn't need to move.

Much more stuck then it looks
Moving back - One board at  time
What a mess but the rig is back in place

2. Water - Our water tanks are heated but there is a hose which runs alone the side of the RV which froze up last night. Scott added some insulation and with the warm up today the water is running again.  I showed pics of our house indoor bathroom last week .. what's funny is since we live in the motor-home I consider it the outhouse. I'm allowed to pee in the RV but no serious business LOL!!

This week, prior to the snow, was all about electrical. Scott worked closely with the electrician and they got the whole place roughed in by Thursday. We are waiting for the rough-in inspection and the new panel which we had to order on-line. There wasn't one to be found on the island.

Waiting for the panel

I worked Monday and Friday wreath making / decorating. Other then that there were a couple of supply runs to Charlottetown and finished a sweater I've been working on for myself.
I've been loving knitting again.

Sweater completed - Will help me stay warn this winter

Another thing I've been loving is PEI. In general wherever I drive or even from the house the views are gorgeous. This week I saw a red fox nose to the ground running across a filled...No pictures as I was driving. Another favorite is the blueberry fields in the fall - gorgeous red.

It was crazy windy all week and on Saturday it snowed all day - the kind of day you don't go out. Being in a very open area the snow only accumulated in a few places.

Wasn't too bad digging the car out

A little visit to the U-Pick for a selfie.

View out front of our place never gets old
